To secure his legacy, Peter Dittmar was encouraged to establish a permanent exhibition space — one that would showcase his paintings from different periods and ensure his work would not be forgotten in the years to come.
He worked in and out of his Bali studio for 37 years (1982–2019), exhibiting internationally in over 100 solo shows across 12 countries and 5 continents. His art appeared at major fairs in Basel, Melbourne, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Yokohama, Singapore, Shanghai, and Moscow. These works, spanning decades and artistic periods, deserve a lasting home. The Tony Raka Art Centre will house them as a tribute to this lifelong journey.
In founding PEDES — the Peter Dittmar Exhibition Space, Dittmar's intention was to preserve this legacy in Bali, following in the footsteps of artists like Walter Spies, who also contributed to the islands artistic life and became famous through the work he did in Bali during the 1930s.
On 25.10.2025 at 4 pm the Peter Dittmar Exhibition Space will be inaugurated at the Tony Raka Art Centre for the permanent display of his significant art works of different periods as well as sales venue.
